Tenderoni is an easy-to-make stovetop macaroni product trademarked and produced by the Stokely Van Camp Food Company. Since the its withdrawal from the US market, the name has evolved into an urban slang term for a younger love interest of either gender, or someone too young to talk to or become involved with.
The term Tenderoni was originally coined and trademarked in the 1930s by the Stokley Van Camp Food Company. The new pasta entered the pasta market as "Van Camp's Tenderoni." Tenderoni is a narrow, thin-walled, hollow piece of straight macaroni. The product was named Tenderoni because it cooked quickly, was "tender" enough without being starchy, and was considered a macaroni product. Tenderoni was particularly popular in post-war America during the 1940s and 1950s because the product was made from fortified wheat flour and was enjoyed by children. It was also inexpensive to make and sell.
Tenderoni remained in production through the 1970s until it was withdrawn from the market in 1981; the current trademark rights have been owned since 2004 by 200 Kelsey Associates, LLC of New Rochelle, New York.
Tenderoni is a trademarked stovetop macaroni product, now no longer produced, and the slang term derived from it.

"Tenderoni" is the first single by Kele Okereke from his debut album, The Boxer. It was released as a download from iTunes on 13 June 2010 in the UK and 11 June in Australia, and was released in a CD format on 14 June 2010. The song has similarities with "Wearing My Rolex" by Wiley. It was also used in the videogame Gran Turismo 5 and was featured in trailers for the video game Sonic Generations.
Hayden Woolley of Drowned in Sound commented that "it's clear that he's not just wearing Wiley's Rolex, rather he's nicked off with it altogether and is parading it round as his own".The Guardian's music section commented that it liked Kele's new direction, "even if it does stray close to other electro anthems" such as Wiley's "Wearing My Rolex". Writing for Pitchfork, Ryan Dombal gave the song an overall positive review, commenting that after listening to the song, he "suddenly felt the urge to go to the gym".
On 16 June 2010, "Tenderoni" attained a position of #31 as predicted on the mid-week sales estimates of the UK Singles Chart. It was then revealed at the end of the week officially on the UK Singles Chart of 20 June 2010 that the song reached a peak position of #31 without any change from its prediction. The following week, the single fell 7 places, despite help from the release of album: "The Boxer". The single did however manage to reach a current peak of number 6 on the UK Dance Chart.
hey I still remember
how you came to be my lover
you were calling out to me
saying won't you set me free
from this long lonely December
and it's cold cold bitter weather
creeping underneath my skin
this lonely state I've been in
well soon we were flying high
into the open sky
smiling in the sun
well is this what they all
is this what they all called love
well words can lose their meaning
twisted into misunderstanding
where even time could not mend
I had the best intentions
But still I could find no reason
Your feelings changed quick as seasons
Slipping out of reach
You're fading from my sweetest dreams
well is this what they all
is this what they all called love
words can lose their meaning
twisted into misunderstanding
I had the best intentions
is this what they all
is this what they all
is this what they all called love
hey I still remember
how you came to be my lover
you were calling out to me
